ATHLETICS DAY

It was an awesome day for our school athletics. The sun was shining, but not too hot, school records tumbled and the Tui Class had fun, running, jumping and throwing.

I really liked the sportsmanship and encouragement that was given by the competitors to each other.

Of course iceblocks topped off a great day!

NURSERY CRIME WATCH

Have you ever wanted to know if Humpty Dumpty fell or was he pushed?
The answers to this question and other questions about nursery rhymes was revealed at our annual school production, Nursery Crime Watch.
We had a fantastic school production, the students were awesome and had an amazing time, they were perfect!
The audience had a ball and laughed all the way through the production, from the opening, right through to the finish.

FIRE WISE

The years 1, 2 and 3 classes attended the Fire Wise program that was conducted by the fire people from the Silverdale fire station. We watched a short dvd on what to do if there was a fire in the house, the need for smoke alarms and who to contact. The students had a great time crawling along the floor under the imaginary smoke blanket.

However the highlight of the morning was the visit to the fire truck and using the fire hoses. They all loved putting out the pretend fire.

I'm sure we have some budding fire people in our ranks!

Photos to come.

MORE SWIM PHOTOS

But wait there's more ....

INTENSIVE SWIMMING

The Year 1 to 3 classes attended intensive swim lessons earlier in the term.

All the children benefited immensely from these lessons, particularly their water confidence and stroke techniques.

Above all they all had fun, but then who wouldn't being in the water?

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution Day

The school participated in the Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Day on May 15. This is a global event to help educate children on healthy eating, this year the children made Jamie's nutritious 'Smash It' sandwich. The students had a great time preparing fresh fruit and vegetables for their sandwich. The sandwiches were yum!

Here are some photos of our class enjoying themselves.

A huge thanks to Mrs Morrison for her idea and organisation.
Delicious vegetables and fruit.

This is how you do it.

One for me and one for you.

I'll cut and you pack.

Nice and small pieces please.

I'm the cutter you just watch.

Smash it!

Just one more handful.
Looks delicious.

Yum!

Yes, doubly yum!

That's for sure!
